Spider Webs and Green Leaves

On April 11th, I went to the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve not long after the gates were opened. I did take some pictures of wildlife, but I think the best shots of the day were these spider web shots and leaves with water droplets on them.

Art League of Fort Myers Photography Show

There is a photography show in Downtown Fort Myers right now that I have four photographs in. They have been up for about two weeks and none of them have sold yet. However, not many other photographs have sold either. I have all four of mine priced at $195. They are 14"x11" prints in 20"x16" frames. Below are the pictures that are in the show. Actually, the pictures in the show are just slightly different because I had to resize them for the 14x11 format, while three pictures below are 12x8 format.

Cedar Waxwing and more

I was out one day trying to get some pictures close to home when I got lucky with this shot. I was snapping a bunch of pictures of a woodpecker when another bird landed just a few branches above it that caught my eye. It didn't stay there long, but I was able to get a few shots of it. Thanks to another photographer from the Flickr website, this bird was identified as a Cedar Waxwing.

Photo Art

I was playing around in Photoshop ome day trying to learn the program a little bit better and I came up with this piece of art. It is combining two photographs into one, and then making it more artistic. One picture is of Danielle while we were at the Naples Zoo last year as she was sniffing a small flower on a tree. The other picture is a close-up of a Black-eyed Susan flower I took at the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve last year. So now it looks like she is sniffing a big sunflower instead.

Lakes Park - 20070322

On March 22nd, I went kayaking at Lakes Park in Fort Myers for the first time. I have seen other photography from another kayaker there, so I thought I would give it a try also. It was quite windy on this particular day, so it was difficult to get good pictures, plus there wasn't too much wildlife out that day. I spotted an alligator on the bank of one of the small islands and started drifting towards it while getting my camera out. Just as I brought the camera up to my eye to snap a picture, it jumped in the water and I decided to paddle away from that area. So I never got a picture of a gator that day. Maybe next time!

Bonita Springs Railroad

On March 15th, I drove to Bonita Springs, Florida hoping to get some downtown photography. There really isn't much of a downtown there, so I settled for a lot of railroad pictures instead.
