Good News, Bad News

I will start with the good news first. Danielle and I went to Jamaica at the end of July for a short vacation. On the first night there, I set up the video camera in our room, sat her on the couch and started asking her some questions. I then walked into the shot as I was pulling a little black box out of my pocket, opened it up to display the diamond ring, and asked her to marry me. Unbeknownst to her, I had been planning on that for a few months. If I would have had any doubt to what her answer would be, I wouldn't have asked. Of course, she said yes. We have yet to set a specific date, but we are looking at sometime in the spring.


We had just traded in Danielle's car a few weeks ago for a 2006 Chrysler Sebring Convertible. Last week, someone broke into it in front of our apartment and tried to hotwire it. Luckily the person was an amateur and wasn't able to successfully get the car started. However, the person did over $1700 in damage to the steering column and door. We had insurance, but we still have to pay a $500 deductible. As soon as we get it back, we have an appointment to have a top-of-the-line alarm installed. We learned our lesson and are taking precautions to prevent another similar mishap.
