Sand Sculptures, Part One

On Saturday, November 11th, 2006 (Veteran's Day), I went to Fort Myers Beach for my first visit to a sand sculpting competition. The first sculpture I saw was military-themed. It was nice to see that someone thought about the weekend it was being held on to inspire his design.

There were several other scultures. I took around two hundred pictures of them! I won't be posting all of the pictures, but I will post quite a few. Therefore, they will be spread out over several parts in this blog.

By the way, these sculptures were much better looking in person!

Was one of those sides an Air Force side?

Ok, the Jack in the Box looking critters on the end are kinda creepy. LOL

Yes, the Air Force was represented also. If you look close in the top picture, you can see USAF on the other side of the Army dude.

Those "creepy" ones were done from someone that came here from China to enter the competition.
